Mustang offers two types of lamination: cold (for larger documents & documents that will be mounted or framed) and hot (for smaller, hand-held documents).
Cold Lamination
- Up to 5 feet wide
- Low luster
- Can laminate documents already mounted
Cold lamination can be done on documents up to 5 feet wide and 2 inches thick. Our most popular form of lamination, it protects documents from tearing and provides a low-luster, non-reflective surface that brings out the color in documents. The lamination surface is durable and can be marked with permanent marker. We also offer a semi-gloss, cold laminate that can be used with wipe-off dry-erase markers.
Cold lamination is also a great way to protect documents that may already be fraying or tearing. The laminate is trimmed right to the image, so there are no plastic edges. This type of lamination is ideal for trade show displays, indoor signage and wall maps.
Hot Lamination
- Water-proof
- Durable
- Available in various thicknesses & finishes
Hot lamination (also known as encapsulated lamination) seals a document between two layers of laminate, stiffening the document. The edges of the document are sealed, ensuring protection from moisture. Encapsulated lamination is available in 5mm or 10mm thickness, and you can also choose between a glossy or matte finish. This type of lamination is ideal for hand-held documents.
